Performance 2019

  • The TEQCG laboratories have introduce new testing parameters for the first time in attempt to fulfil the Bahraini Standard for wastewater, Law 33 for 2006

  • According to Ministry of Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Policy in upgrading the laboratory performance Treated Effluent Quality Control Group has purchased some advanced analytical instrument that enhance the produce ability, accuracy and efficiency of the laboratories as listed below:

    a. Spectrophotometer DR6000.
    b. Autotitrator.

  • The Directorate has maintained a production rate of more than 95 thousand cubic meters of treated wastewater per day, which is treated with the latest technologies at Tubli wastewater treatment center, which is then transferred by distribution networks to farmers in different regions of the Kingdom.

All Complaints were handled within one hour only after received from the Control and Reporting Center in the Sanitary Engineering sector

Total reports regarding the breakdown of pumping stations

All reports were dealt with through the implementation of operational contracts and periodic maintenance

  • All transmission and distribution networks for treated wastewater were maintained including all inspection chambers according to the planned maintenance program prepared.

  • TWPCC received more than 85 million cubic meters of wastewaters until the beginning of October. Most of the incoming flow received were fully preliminary and secondary treated while a small portion were partially treated.

  • The planned preventive and corrective maintenance required for mechanical, electrical and measuring equipment were carried out in all major and minor treatment plants. Moreover, the overhauling works for the sludge dewatering and drying plant at Tubli Wastewater Treatment Center are being carried out according to the work plan.

Performance 2019

Upgrading of South Alba Sewage Treatment Plant

Project’s Scope of Work:

The project involves the upgrading of the existing, overloaded and poorly performing STP and includes:

– Increase in treatment capacity from 900m3/day to 2,500m3/day (with provision for expansion to 4,000m3/day)

– Effluent suitable for unrestricted reuse and disposal to the marine environment

– New sea outfall for excess effluent disposal

Project’s Scope of Work:

The Project involves the construction of a sewer network system comprising of 827 m of NDRC work with 15 no. Deep Gravity Chamber, 3km Main lines, 2km Laterals, 263 no. Manholes & Chambers and 150 House Connections to serve the residents of Arad, Block 241.

Rehabilitation / Upgrading of Minor Sewerage Pumping Stations

Project’s Scope of Work:

A number of foul sewerage pumping and lifting stations (37) have been selected for rehabilitation and upgrading of their electro-mechanical equipment. Under this project the selected stations will be equipped with new pumps, internal piping, valves, fittings, electrical control panels, control system and instrumentation/ sensors. For several stations some minor civil works such as, fixing of damaged GRP liners, new cable sleeve piping, refurbishment of covers, bollards, and new concrete plinths for the new electrical control panels has been included as well.
